Danielle’s November Favorites

I have been extremely diligent to post a monthly favorites video every month, but due to being so busy and really tired, I’ve decided this will have to suffice. All of my favorites for the month of November are listed and described below in typical Danielle fashion. I am going to be dedicating a lot of time to filming and editing a 2011 Favorites with all of my absolute must haves for the past year, so there will also not be a December favorites either. I’m still contemplating if I will do one of these for December. I hope you enjoy my favorites!

  1. Covergirl Eye Enhancers in Shimmering Sands- The easiest neutral trio in the history of the world. I especially love the highlight shade.
  2. NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Iced Mocha- Currently my absolute favorite base (not primer) to wear under neutral shadows.
  3. NYX Slide On Glide On Waterproof Eye Pencil in Jet Black- Woah baby, this is the longest wearing pencil I’ve ever used even on my waterline and it’s super inexpensive.
  4. Unforgettable Moments Nail Polish (Found in this post about my gifts from my BFF)- I absolutely adore the two nail polishes from this collection that my best friend bought me!!
  5. MAC Mineralize Blush in Gentle- My go to fall/winter deep berry blush currently.
  6. Brash Nail Polish in Shimmering Brick (In above post)- Again, another fabulous shade that my best friend picked up, she knows me so well. These Payless polishes are AWESOME and so affordable!!
  7. Sonia Kashuk Tribal Weekender- My savior for my weekend trip to San Diego. This 3 piece bag holds so much with so many pockets and pouches and still fit comfortably in my carry on tote.
  8. Urban Decay NAKED Palette- I don’t think there’s much explanation for this one. It’s been my go to for a year now and never fails to be everything I need for my eyes.
  9. Revlon Colorburst Lip Butters in Cupcake, Pink Truffle, Red Velvet, Sugar Plum, Raspberry Pie- Everyone is obsessed and I am too. These shades have been all I’ve been wearing for most of November. They’re fabulous.
  10. Victoria’s Secret Baked Mineral Bronzing Powder in Glitterati (Glitterati only found in stores)- I love this glowy sparkly bronzer that keeps me looking like summer even when I hardly see the light of day.
  11. MAC Paint Pot in Indianwood- What I throw on my eyes on lazy days and just go out the door in, also my current go to primer.
  12. Nicole by OPI Kardashian Kolor in Disco Dolls (Also in above post)- AHHH this copper sparkly polish is perfection. It’s so festive and amazing. I loved wearing this on Thanksgiving. It’s definitely a holiday staple.
  13. Sonia Kashuk All Out Glam Silver Holiday 6pc Brush Set- The silver glitter drew me in. These brushes are amazing and for such a great price, they make a fabulous gift idea for a friend (or yourself). They include a Powder/Blush Brush, Pointed Foundation Brush (I use this for concealer), Small Duo Fibre Brush, Eyeshadow Brush, Angled Contour Crease Brush, and a Pointed Eyeliner Brush.

Chocoholics Anonymous

What girl doesn’t love chocolate? It’s delicious and so yummy and of course chocolate is full of amazing things like antioxidants, anti-aging properties, and endorphins. Endorphins make people happy, so of course chocolate inspired beauty products are no different. Chocolate brown shades are absolutely perfect for autumn and they’re universally flattering. Everyone has a wonderful chocolatey shade to compliment their eyes or skin tone perfectly. If you’re looking for a little more happiness to your day, check out our extended column on Beauty Forum.

Givenchy Prismissime Eyes - 55 Tempting Chocolate- This chic eyeshadow palette offers 9 gorgeous shadows in a variety of finishes from matte to pearl.

Philosophy Classic Fudge Cake Shampoo, Shower Gel, and Bubble Bath- Here’s an incredibly decadent way to indulge in the shower with this Philosophy three in one.

Bare Minerals Big & Bright Eyeliner in Chocolate- A really creamy eyeliner to make your eyes appear bigger and brighter.

OPI Chocolate Shakespeare, OPI I’m Suzi & I’m a Chocoholic, and OPI Chocolate Moose- Three totally Chcolate inspired polishes to give you different looks depending on your mood.

MAC Lipstick in Mocha- This is a perfect peachy brown that can compliment all skin tones.

Maybelline Expert Wear Eyeshadow Quad in Designer Chocolates- This has been my go to quad for a few weeks now. I absolutely love the shades especially the warm crease color.

Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzing Powder- This is a perfect matte bronzer
that uses real cocoa powder to achieve better skin by neutralizing red and giving a flawless finish.

ELF Essentials Nail Polish in Chocolate - I’m absolutely loving this deep rich brown that is super inexpensive and great for fall.

Covergirl Eye Enhancers 1 Kit Shadows in Swiss Chocolate- This color is great to have to define your crease easily and quickly when you’re on the go.

Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge for Lips and Cheeks in Chocolate Cherry- These are absolutely amazing creamy pops of color that blend and wear so well. I adore this deep red/brown shade!

Beauty Forum Bookmarks: Our Favorites Part One

These are a few of our favorite beauty sites! We thought we’d share the sites we have bookmarked and visit frequently and what we love and don’t love about each of them. These are GREAT resources, and while many of you may have heard of them, we thought we’d share this list for all of our readers. This will be a two part series so that you can check them out in little groups.

Part magazine, part blog, this site has a little bit of everything.

Best at: BROCHURES. Her Fall MAC Collection Brochures were the best way to view the tons of MAC collections and see EXACTLY what was in each collection. Sheer brilliance. The monthly magazine is usually pretty nice too.
Lacking in:
Post frequency. If you love hyper frequent posts, this one is not for you. It’s more like a magazine so it’s not as frequent.

Temptalia: Every product ever. The latest releases, the hottest products, great dupes, and reviews of collections.

Best at: Reviewing products before they even hit shelves. Wondering whether or not to grab that new Urban Decay Palette? Check Temptalia. The Glossover system rates each
product thoroughly and understandably, with a summary of final thoughts. It’s a great system. The blog has a swatch gallery as well, so if you’re interested in a product, check it out ahead of time.
Lacking In: I love the idea of the dupe list but I find it hard to use. That might just be me, but I’ve never really found it reliable.

Example of the Glossover for the Urban Decay 15th Anniversary Palette.

The Beauty Department: Tutorials, blogs, surveys, and advice from Lauren Conrad and her Beauty Team.  We’ve previously introduced it here.

Best at: Tutorials and beauty inspiration. They have a hairstylist and a makeup artist writing for them, so the posts are often really informative.

Lacking in: The tutorials are hit or miss. I either am dying to try it or feel like it’s been done on the blog several times (yes, we know LC loves winged liner, yawn!) or I just don’t like it at all.

Look out for Part Two later this week!

Stay beautiful,

MAC Bronzing Powder

preppedandreadytogo asked: What do you guys think of MAC bronzer?

As you BF lovelies know, I’m obsessed with bronzer. In my Guide to Bronzers, I mentioned the MAC Bronzing Powder as one of my picks. My mom turned me on to this one. She’s been using it as long as I can remember and loves it. It looks so natural on her. That’s really one of the reasons I fell in love too. It goes on so flawlessly. There are four shades that vary from shimmer to pearl to matte which is perfect for everyone’s preference.

So long story short, I adore this bronzer and it’s currently in my makeup bag for on the go touch ups! :) Definitely head to a counter or a MAC store and check this out if you’re interested!
